This describes the simplest type of font download: Raster image fonts. When saved to a file, these are usually saved as .SFP fles. These files can be downloaded to the printer to make the font available for selection and printing. There are other types of fonts including the scaleable .SFS format and the .TFM formated which is based on TrueType fonts.

Questions:
/techref/language/pcl/fontdnload.htm Massmind, I need to find a downloadable LinePrinter font that I can install in the windows font folder. Any ideas where I can find this for download? Thanks
James Newton replies: In the context of this page, download means "into the printer" not from the internet. Windows wouldn't have a clue what to do with an HP type downloadable (to printer) font. You probably need a true type LinePrinter font. Google is your friend.
